Los Angeles Maritime Museum/Port Of L.A. Tour
Today we head down to the Port of Los Angeles where we’ll take a little boat tour (don’t worry, you won’t get seasick on this one) on one of the most beautiful Southern California mornings in recent history. Thanks to a work gig, I was taken on a one-hour tour (thankfully I didn’t end up like Gilligan and his friends…of course they had two extra hours to get in trouble). Afterward, I walked over to the nearby Los Angeles Maritime Museum to see what they had to offer, and I found it to be an interesting expenditure of my time and learned a few nautical facts along the way. So get those sea legs in shape. Ship ahoy!

Visiting a maritime museum "just for the hull of it". Only maitaitom!
A totally enjoyable read for me. In the early '70's I had a couple of shipboard jobs and then worked for the San Francisco Maritime Museum as a rigger on the Balclutha, so this brought great memories.
Looks like a nice museum, thanks for sharing.

Great report! Something we would really enjoy on a future visit.
In fact, we're just catching up with several of your terrific reports on more places to explore in LA. Thanks for taking the time to post them.
