That is a current debate and very difficult to determine the effect. It is known that some families with medical issues, especially children are doing just that. But it is not in the thousands. Maybe moving for the tax rebate coming from excess tax collection on pot.

Thank you all! Wasn't really sure the specific questions I needed to ask. Our 2 boys are in elementary school and pre school. Were currently in piedmont triad of NC. We pay $650 rent now for a 3 bed 2 bath apartment. Small city but also close enough to a big one. That is how the triad is. 10 to 25 minutes from any big city. Plains peferable. Grade school kids so a decent neighborhood. A few reasons for moving.
1. Medical problems
2. My father has copd and the weather seems perfect there for him. He hasn't got to go outside the part few days here because of the weather.

There aren't too many choices on the plains. You could look at Fort Morgan and Stirling. Greeley is possible. Rent is going to be way above what you are used to in front range cities like Fort Collins and Loveland.
I am not as familiar with the southern part of the state. Maybe someone can chime in about Pueblo or Trinidad .
Good luck!

I think your goal is unrealistic. I've known of several people with COPD and they have moved out of CO. The altitude is not conducive. Moving to a state that you have never visited? Your rent is going to be significantly higher in much of CO. I know in Durango, where I live, you can't get a one bedroom for $1,000. This is not the best forum to get your answers. If you are dead set on CO for whatever reason, google some cities, check out median incomes, housing costs, hospital/medical care and health insurance availability, etc.

Look were not idoits everyone. We've already done the research on housing and wouldn't still be looking if that was an issue. We haven't really ever traveled out of nc so please tell me where I should look. Never thought I would get a bunch of rude and discouraging responses. We're leaving NC for a lot reasons. I only gave 2. No relation to anyone else asking any questions. I'm 31 and been in the cell phone business for 15 years so I can pretty much find a job anywhere. We're going to sirens a few weeks traveling and looking around. Just needed ideas on good places to look.

Sorry, Jordan. People here ARE really, really rude. Somehow, the idea of simply not posting on a thread when you have nothing useful to say never occurs to them.
If you persist, a few helpful people may show up, and I suggest you ignore the rest.

Wow thank you. Honesty! We don't really have a choice but to move. Everyone is focusing on my dad's copd. Yes it is important but if my fiance can't wing himself off some of these prescriptions then he want make it 10 more years. He's only 30! We may just need to look in a different state.
