Lodging walking distance from Tanglewood?

Hoping to get tickets to 3 concerts/3 days at Tanglewood and wondering if anyone tell me about reasonable lodging within walking distance, so we don't have to worry about pre- and post-concert traffic/parking issues. Comments? Recommendations? ("Reasonable" for us would be no more than $200/night).

Friends stayed at the Rookwood In which ia about 1.5 miles away, BUT IT IS A WALK ALONG BUSY ROAD.
I don't hink you'll get closer for under $200

Thanks, jubilada. How cumbersome/congested is the parking situation, do you know?

jj495, the parking/traffic situation depends a bit on which concerts you are going to. I've not been to any of the pop or jazz concerts. For the BSO, on a night when Yo Yo Ma is playing, and there weather is nice, it can take 30 minutes to get out of the lot. Other times, a bit less. Weather has a huge effect, because if its rainy, the lawn just doesn't fill up and the congestion is not so bad.

I think the Apple Tree Inn is the closest B&B. I've not stayed there, but I've heard its pretty nice, and it might even meet your budget.

The Apple Tree is closest but I think the motel style rooms which are the only ones under $200, are not great, though certainly not awful.
Parking before the concert is fine, there are several lots and the process is easy especially if you come early and picnic or just hang out on the grounds.
Leaving can indeed take a half an hour, or it can take 10 minutes.
I'd find a lodging I like and drive there, except on the 4th of July which can be a true mess.

Here is a website that has a map w/ the location of hotels near Tanglewood. Because it is a very popular summer destination you will find hotels expensive. You may find less expensive ones on the outskirts of Tanglewood.

We have been to Tanglewood a couple of times and it is not all that difficult leaving the area. It can be a slow process when everyone is leaving but it is not a major city area so don't think it would be all that bad if you found something in your price range further away from Tanglewood itself. Good luck, hope you find something affordable. It's a lovely venue.

As long as you are not trying to drive back to Boston on the Pike, getting out of the parking lot isn't all that bad.

We stayed at a very decent place just over the line in Stockbridge and might go back there, but hoped to try to stay closer, enjoy the town, and possible walk to and from. Thank you for all your help, friends.

I don't think there is much within walking distance and I wouldn't want to walk on that road after a concert as its a busy and somewhat dark road.

Enjoy it. Great venue for sure with a lot of memories for me.

I worked a couple of summers as a toll collector for the Pike. I will never forget the 4th of July when James Taylor was playing at Tanglewood. It was also the first week that EZ Pass (which Mass named Fast Lane) was installed - nobody had it. We had a 2 mile backup of traffic most of the day for people trying to get to Tanglewood. Anybody running late missed the concert unfortunately. If you are familiar with Exit 2 (before the reconstruction ~5 years ago, it was a stop sign at the end). They shut down the tolls for most of the day to no avail - just a massive amount of people coming through 2 lanes of the Pike all day. It was not a fun day. I worked from 9am to 2am that day.
