Hi, we visited the Manor several years ago, nice house tour and lovely grounds (and they will let you picnic etc.) At the time, there wasn't too much around as far as activities, entertainment, but that may have changed in the past few years. If the area hasn't changed, I would see the Manor, but do not plan your vacation around the town.

I used to go to Livingston Manor daily when I worked at Summer camp nearby. We had to go to use the laundry! There was a great diner for breakfast and I remember a lovely craft shop, but not a lot else! The area is beautiful though and well worth a visit

I grew up in one of the small towns nearby. We visited LM often because a friend lived there. It makes me smile to think someone might actually want to visit there!! We used to picnic and swim at a place called Beaver Kill. There's a covered bridge that goes across the water. It was (am not sure how it is now), lovely, clear (very cold) water. It's in a really pretty part of the world, but it's a very small town.
