Limited time in Vegas Casinos
We are flying into Vegas in September to go to Zion and Bryce. We wanted to stop in one of the casinos for an hour or two to play a few slots. How far is the airport from the casinos? Any recommendation on a particular casino, considering our limited time. Am I correct in assuming that we can park in the casino? Any other tips for a quick trip would be appreciated.

The Las Vegas Strip isn't far from the airport. Just drive down the strip and find a place to park and go gamble...they will all take your money! They are aren't to much out of your way to Interstate 15 and Zion.

If you care about the return on your slot investment, go off strip. Orleans, Sams Town or any of the Fiesta casinos.
If you just want to hang on the strip and feel the excitement then I recommend: MGM, NYNY, or Luxor. Those are active casinos on the South end of the strip, closest to the airport.

There are slots in the airport. If you get the slot bug just stop at any convience store, bar etc. and you can give them your money. To much of a bother to go to a big time casino.once inside it will take all day to find the exit.

Considering you don't want to spend a whole lot of time in the casino - I'd go over to either Mandalay Bay or Bellagio - valet park the car and then go on in. Both of these are beautiful and have great restaurants, bars and shops to visit. Obviously gambling is gambling and it doesn't really matter what casino (on the Strip) that you're in - they'll all take your money and few will give back much, if any. It is true that downtown, "off-Strip" and "local" casinos pay better, but if you just want the experience of being in a casino, why not pick the best? Being that you're coming in September, you might want to also consider Wynn Las Vegas - it will be the newest, poshest casino/hotel - it opens the end of April and is sure to be a beautiful place.

For an hour or 2 there are slots in the airport starting from 5 cents, and an attendant is always there. The only difference - no free drinks. But you lose just the same, so why even bother to drive somewhere?

If you want to get some driving time out of the way before gambling, then you can drive the 1 1/2 hours on I-15 to Mesquite, NV and gamble there. It has become quite the resort area.
