Liberty State Park - Parking for ferry to Statue of Liberty
Does anyone know any specifics about the parking arrangements at Liberty State Park for people taking the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty? We are wondering if the parking is secure because we will have luggage in our car. We would take the ferry from Battery Park after we go to our hotel in New York City and drop our car and luggage but there are no ferry tickets available at the time we need from Battery Park.

It's a large open lot. What is your concern? That someone will break into your car in broad daylight?
Personally I'd have no such concern there but I generally feel that my car door and trunk locks are secure and don't fret about these things.

And just make sure that you don't arrive, then stand at the back of your car making a big deal about locking things inside the trunk! Police often confirm that car robberies generally occur because of such actions.
