Las Vegas Side Trips?

We will be in Vegas for the first week of April. First 3 days will be free and may just relax around pool if weather is good enough. However, if we dicide to drive off somewhere...does anyone have good ideas for side trips? We have been to Hoover Dam. thanks in anticipation!

Red Rock Canyon is just 25 min drive and nice if you'd like a hike. Haven't been to Valley of Fire but that's a scenic one-hour drive.

Zion National Park is just a 2.5 hour drive from Vegas and if you start early, you can do it and back in a day. Breathtaking!

tracy2cents gave you the top three places to see IMHO. Just keep in mind those are one way driving times.

Thank you so much Tracey and Utahtea. Just the information I was looking for. I have checked the sites for these locations and we love to hike and it looks perfect! Thank you so much.

We've been to Valley of Fire, and it was wonderful. Take lots of water if you go there -- you can't buy it once you're out there. Also be sure to take your camera; we got some beautiful pictures. We were there the last of April/first of May.

You can also take a tour of the Grand Canyon. Many companies offer one day trips. The ride of course is long but the vistas are maginificent.
