Las Vegas hotel pools with shade

I am making my first trip to Vegas - just for the experience, since I am not a gambler. I have been reading up on the different hotels and can't decide which would be best for a short stay midweek in September. I want to enjoy nice pools, but need pool areas with shade, since I am fair-skinned. I don't want to spend a fortune on umbrellas or cabanas. Does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks,
Martha

i am in the middle of planning a trip for the same time and lost on which hotel to stsy at. TI is one of our top choices and I hear that their pool can get quite shady. The rooms are nice and clean (I had a friend who stayed here and I saw the room). The location is decent, more toward the north end of the strip but not a far walk to mid strip attractions. Thy are running deals with free cirque du soleil tickets right now, if you are interested and your dates are open. They also have great air + hotel deals straight from their site if you are still looking for airfare.

Enjoy!

I don't know about the rooms, but I did see the pool at the Golden Nugget on Fremont St. The slide goes through the shark tank. It looks like there were plenty of shaded recliners near the pool. I saw this from the nice buffet room upstairs.
If you stop by for the buffet before 3PM, sit over by the windows. After 3PM the price goes up for the same buffet.
The 63+ lb. gold nugget is the largest on public display.

Martha, I have been to Las Vegas several times and would suggest that you stay somewhere on the strip vs. Fremont Street esp. if this is your first time. You do want easy access to stroll the strip and bob into to different hotels/casinos to check their "themes" out (i.e. Luxor, Bellagio, Caesars, etc.)...that's part of the fun whether you gamble or not. We have stayed at the Bellagio, Mirage, Treasure Island, MGM Grand, Paris, and Monte Carlo, but I can't speak for the pools! You could call the hotels and speak with reception or scroll through the pictures on tripadvisor and see if anyone has taken recent photos of the pool area. I definitely would start with hotels on the strip, though. I have found the best deals on-line at the hotel's websites. Watch out for the "resort fee" because that could add extra $$$ to your booking...so you'll have to take that into consideration.

I try to stay out of direct sun as I burn easily. I stayed recently at the Flamingo and was able to enjoy some shade at their pool. It is back toward the walkway a little away from the pool itself, but I found it to work for me.

There appear to be some shady areas at the Mandalay Bay as well....this past weekend it was a very busy place, but I only saw from the inside.

Thanks everyone for your help. I checked pictures through Tripadvisor, which were helpful. I had read some reviews for Mandalay Bay which indicated there was no shade at the pools/beach. I went ahead and booked a trip through Vegas.com, staying at the Mirage, based on location in the center of the strip, travelers photos on Tripadvisor, rankings and your help. Thanks again!

If you are interested in visiting Las Vegas off The Strip, check out the JW Marriott Las Vegas. There is plenty of shade with enormous umbrellas poolside. Their website photo does not do it justice, search for additional photos. http://www.jwlasvegasresort.com/Expe...a/Pool-20.html The resort is in walking distance to Tivoli Village for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Various golf courses are close by. There is a movie theatre at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino across the street. But there are many amenities at the JW Marriott great for you as a visitor and for me as a local resident, you may be content never leaving the hotel's property.
