Juliana Hotel or Galleria Park in San Francisco?

I'm planning a family getaway to San Francisco and I'm having trouble deciding between these 2 hotels. They both have good rates but the Juliana seems closer to Union Square but not by much. The rooms look a little nicer (funner) at the Juliana but I like the rooftop garden at the Galleria, but it could be totally foggy and we wouldn't even go out there. If anyone has stayed at either property let me know what you think.

I can't comment on the facilities at either hotel, but I can tell you about the locations. The Galleria Park is 2 blocks from Union Square, close to the financial district and closer to lots of stores like Gumps Juliana is also 2 blocks from Union Square on top of the Stockton street tunnel oposite the Sutter Stockton. The Galleria Park has more stores and retaurants close by than the Juliana and seems more condusive to strolling.

Family getaway? Are there older people in your family for whom a hill would be a problem? I don't know where is Galleria, but Juliana is on Bush on a steep hill.

Thanks for the info. No one in our group is older so the hill won't be a problem. I was also thinking about the Triton. It looks like a fun place. AAH too many choices!

My husband and I stayed in The Galleria Park last year and loved it. It is very close to Union Square, if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks. The rooms and service were great. If you like to jog the rooftop garden is available for laps. We have not stayed at the Juliana so I can not compare hotels. Make sure you ask for one of the uppper, corner rooms (they do have more space). Enjoy your visit!
