How can I get from Zion National Park to Bryce Canyon without a car?

I am spending several days in Zion. I want to take a side day trip over to Bryce to get in a hike there. I do not have a car. I am flying into St. George and grabbing the St. George Express shuttle to get me to Zion. Does anyone know of a bus service or other transportation option to get from Zion to Bryce. I do not want a bus "tour," just a way to get there and back.

hikerchrissy,

You just might be asking the impossible. I just searched the internet for you in to off chance there was a service I didn't know about, but I didn't find one!

There are day trip tours out of LV, but I didn't even see any that originate in St. George.

Is there some really good reason why you can't rent a car?

Even if there was a shuttle service between the parks, one providing transportation on a private, non-tour basis would be much more expensive that just renting a car.....

PS - I can only suggest contacting the St. George visitor's center and the Zion Natl Park Visitor's Center and asking them. If anyone knows, they will.

Good luck!

Contact the people at the St. George shuttle service and see if they have service to Bryce or would be willing to arrange for a private car to take you.

Otherwise, you could count on the "kindness of strangers", perhaps someone you meet at Zion is going there for a day and would be willing to take you along.

I was going to say the same thing as emalloy - ask someone for a ride. There are so many people going from one park to the other you should be able to find someone that will let you ride along.

You would probably be just fine, but since you are alone and even more so if you are female, I would have to think twice about catching a ride with a stranger.

Contact Zion Adventure Company and see if they offer or know anyone that does a shuttle service.
