I am looking for an cheaper priced New Jersey hotel, compared to NYC. It needs to have very easy access to NYC, and parking a plus.

Any recommendations??

There are a Radisson, a Marriott, and a Holiday Inn at the intersection of Route 80 and the Garden State Parkway in Saddle Brook. Easy access to Manhattan, plenty of free parking, and more shopping malls in nearby Paramus than you could possibly want to visit. Paramus itself offers several chain hotels but they tend to be right on busy, noisy, Route 17. There's also a Courtyard by Marriott in Secaucus, right in the middle of discount shopping land and even closer to NYC.

Which part of NYC is most important to you? Uptown, midtown, downtown? How would you prefer to get into NYC?

Are you looking for a place in NJ where you can park your car, and then take public transportation in to NYC, or do you want to drive into NY? Will you being doing that once (not so bad) or trying to "commute" into the city for several days (less pleasant)? There are many locations that are "easy " to get into NYC, but not particularly quick. Some would involve an easy straightforward drive of 30-60 minutes.

It's fair to say that every hotel in NJ will be cheaper than a comparable one in NY. How much were you hoping to spend per night? ANd when are you traveling? Prices vary so much!

All will have parking since that's the only practical way to get around most of the state. If the hotel is very close to NY and really accessible to public transportation (like parts of Jersey City) I suspect there will be a charge for the parking.

I am looking for public transportation into NYC, either bus, Path etc.

I always stay in Manhattan, but I'm with someone who doesn't want to split the high hotel costs which I'm not finding under $250+ taxes. So looking for $150 and under. Traveling mid June, 2 nights.

I would stay in Long Island City in Queens. There are several hotels there, including the Comfort Inn and Quality Inn, that are within 2 blocks of a 24-hour NYC subway. This is infinitely preferable to staying in NJ, and the cost should be around your price limit.

Saddle Brook is hardly easy access to Manhattan. It's certainly doable - but takes a long time and is not cheap.

The only thing I would consider in Jersey are the hotels in Jersey City (Hyatt and 1 or 1 others) that are right near the PATH station. That way you can be in the city in 20 minutes - not an hour or ore each way.

And yes, they're more expesnsive than hotels at the end of hell and gone. Life is simple. You either pay money or spend time. It;s a matter of how much your vacation time is worth to you.

If you bid on Priceline, you can get a very good hotel in NYC for $150 or less right now. Don't know about June, but would be worth a try. Of course, parking would probably be more expensive than the room, but you would save on daily travel into NYC.
