Historic District Hotel, St. Augustine, Florida, February

Hi! Guidance please. We are attempting to book a good value, clean hotel in the historic district of St. Augustine, Florida, for 2 nights in February. We prefer contemporary design and want air conditioning. LOCATION is our preference. Breakfast and Wi Fi. Any recommendations? THANK YOU!

Also, might you have a suggestion about where we can stay near Savannah, close to Interstate 95?

Truly appreciate your feedback!

Sandy

We liked the Monterey. Not sure I spelled it correctly. Excellent location right next to the historic area and across from the fort.

Apparently Monterey Inn is now Bayfront St. Augustine.

It is pretty easy to go into Savannah from I-95, and you can walk around before dinner or after breakfast. There are two Hampton Inns in the historic district, IIRC.

We had a nice stay at the above. Good location, reasonably priced, breakfast and wi-fi.

The Old City Inn next door to the very pricey Casa Monica. Nice place to stay and the restaurant is very good. Have fun, it is a lovely town.

http://www.stgeorge-inn.com/ we love it here.

If you want to go cheap there is a Best Western by the parking garage that is clean.

Agree with cmcfong. The Old City House http://oldcityhouse.com has an excellent location, wiffi and truly outstanding breakfasts included. Free parking too. As to "contemporary design" within the historic district, that will be tough to find because everything is...well...historic. In February, air conditioning is not needed, but I believe every hotel and B&B has it.
