'High Costs in Hamptons Force Workers Out'-NY Times

By TRACIE ROZHON

Many of those who were born in the Hamptons, along with others who arrived more recently, are being forced out by the high cost of living in the wealthy resort area.

So?
What does this have to do with travel?
What do you expect us to do?
Cry crocodile's tears?

Poor Noah--he never actually travels anywhere and instead spends a lot of time assembling collections of Web sites, collecting brochures, etc. Be kind, at least until he starts insulting people.

I'm going to address this comment to Noah / Noach, and try not to be rude. Noah, the reason people get a bit annoyed with you is that they see an interesting new thread, look forward to hearing something worthwhile about the place from a traveler who's BEEN THERE! Then it's one of your comments, which have not come from any personal experience, and the reader is disappointed! I'm sure you mean well, but people can read travel brochures, websites, etc. for themselves. It's first-hand experience they like to hear on here, as a rule!

I've been coming to this site for months and have yet to see an informative "been there, done that, here's my advice" post from Noah. His stuff is a big YAWN

Joseph, Well, there you go again. Lambasting somebody who's only sin is trying to point people in the right direction!

My orthopedic surgeon husband who owns a diamond mine and I have looked at some of Noah's suggested websites and have found them very interesting and helpful, because we are going to travel to, uhhh, err going to buy and island, yeah, that's it, buy and island!
Lighten up on the poor man. He's just trying to help!
XOXO
PJ
ps to Noach...Just why would you post this stuff on a travel board? Trying to start a travel boycott?
Does Fodor's have a "Politics" forum now?

Dearest PJ (XOXO to you, too!),

Now you would REALLY KNOW if I was lambasting, PJ. That was a gentle explanation for why some people get a little touchy with Noah. As I said, I was trying very hard not to be rude but to explain to Noah that some consider this strictly a TRAVELER'S Forum, and might respond accordingly.

Good night and sleep tight, PJ!

Joe
