Help with Everglades and Keys in March

Jump to last reply

I'm considering trips for next March and am thinking about the Everglades and Keys with my husband and 7 year old son.

Is it better to fly into FLL than MIA, even if we're only going south of MIA? I've read that
it's a lot easier to get in and out of FLL so it's worth the extra drive.

If we want to spend a few days exploring the Everglades (Shark Valley, driving through the park), where would be a good place to stay? Florida City is closest,
but is that a good place to stay? Is there a place nearer the beach that would still be close and a lot nicer?

I'm pondering a few days for the Everglades and a few days for the Keys. If we do that, what would be a good base in the Keys (considering we'll probably fly out of FLL)? We've been to Key West and while we really liked it, would prefer a place we haven't been.

Are the glass bottom boat tours worth the time and money? Where is the best place to do that?
