Health Food Stores in Hawaii?

Is there any on the BI or Kauai that you'd recommend? We'll be staying in Keauhou and VNP on BI and Kapaa, Kauai (but will be driving all over).

I'm not sure what you are referring to as health food stores, but on Kauai in Kapaa there is Papaya's market. Lots of organic foods and fruits, etc.

That sounds like what I want.
I should have known you'd know where the 'good for you' food is as well as the really good foods! DS eats protein power bars and is getting to be the organic fanatic.

LOL...you saw my fat cheeks! Wouldn't want good for you kinda food, now would I?

One reason I had checked these places out was because the son and dil eat organic.

I have no idea how good it is, but there is a restaurant in Kapaa called The Blossoming Lotus. I think they may do a lot of organic and/or vegan type foods.

And, I noticed at Olympic Cafe you can substitute for tofu on lots of the breakfast dishes.

LOL, NO, I was referring to your mulitple posts about the various delicious foods you were eating each day - my cheeks look just like yours!

....and DS is interested more and more in the organic and has cut down on meats, eats more fish,... but has not made the leap to vegan nor tofooey (ugh!) as yet - I don't think that will ever happen!

He does drink protein shakes after work -outs, etc. And, yes, he intends to pack a bunch.

It was the 'mother' in me wanting to know 'just in case'he ran out or forgot something ....also didn't know they were so expensive there, & thought he could pack lighter if he just bought the stuff there...oh well.

Thanks for the suggestions. Guess I'll bring my own bars as well...the granola trail mix type.

Well, I just so happened to buy 3 mangoes today! DH loves pineapple, so I've been sneaking some of his...(I don't usually).
I have almonds and walnuts...they're supposed to be 'healthier' - and I've got to get into that bathing suit!

Keilani's link to the brewery got me into a juicy drink mode last night. So I splurged with a Diet V-8 Tropical Blend & dark rum with alittle of Baja Bob's low-cal Pina Colada mix thrown in for good measure! Not quite the quality I'd get on island, but it did in a pinch...and no wt. gain! Yeah!!!!!
