Folks,
Will be in Denver for a conference and want to get to see the beautiful parts of CO. Leaving around noon and need to get back to the airport for a morning flight. Thinking of heading towards Boulder and beyond and then returning to Boulder for dinner/hotel. Looking at the trip from Boulder to Estes Park or Boulder to Nederland. As this is mid April, are either likely to be preferable?? And when i get back to Boulder, can you suggest a place to stay?
Thanks
Half Day/One night in and near Boulder, CO

Search this forum for another question almost identical to yours. The title has to,do with an extra day near Denver, I think. Lots of good advice on it.
Much depends on the time of year you will be in CO
Here it is:

You can easily do both by doing a loop from Boulder. Boulder to Nederland then the Peak to Peak Highway to Estes Park, then back to Boulder for dinner and overnight. Be sure to do a few short loops in RMNP.
For a place to stay, it all depends on your budget. At the high end, I'd suggest St. Julien's, mid-range the Hotel Boulderado. There are also several of the usual chains.
I think there are prettier parts than Boulder and Estes. However, Boulder canyon (Nederland/Boulder) is very pretty. If weather is good you could go a big loop to Breckenridge via I-70 over Hooiser pass and back to Denver via 287. Give you a broader cross section of Colorado.
