Grand Canyon/Sedona in March with 3 teens

Jump to last reply

We just decided to go to Grand Canyon and Sedona for Spring Break the last week of March. We have never been to this area. It will be me and 21 and 18 year old daughters and 15 year old son.
Here's what I'm thinking so far and would like feedback:
Day 1: Arrive in Phoenix or Las Vegas (mid morning if possible) Is one preferable over the other?
Drive to Grand Canyon. Stay at south rim - reservation at Maswick
Day 2: Tour Grand Canyon, easy hike below rim (is this possible?) Spend night at Maswick
Day 3: Morning at GC. Afternoon drive to Sedona
Stay at Best Western Arroyo Roble or Sky Ranch Lodge. (have reservations at both right now)
Is Arroyo Roble worth the extra cost? I like the idea of breakfast being included. Is an indoor pool necessary? Will we be so tired from our days that we won't use the amenities?
Are there food places near Sky Ranch? Is location of Arroyo Roble better? (in town?) Is in town noisy/hustle bustle or is everything quiet peaceful ?

From here we are flexible. We can stay 3 or 4 nights.
Would like to do some easy hiking. The Pink Jeep Tours are recommended by lots of people. I am very prone to motion sickness -- it's not about speed it's more about up and down and all around! The Broken Arrow Tour sounds like it would make me sick. Is there another one that is good but gentler?
What other sites/activities shouldn't be missed?

I've heard weather is mid 50's during the day in Sedona. What about GC weather?

Car rental recommendations?

Thanks!
