Good eats in West Maui-non touristy
Wow "...gone2Maui", those were great recommendations you gave to "Melissajoy" for South Maui! Can you or any local out there give me a few lunch and dinner places that serve great fish and veggie/salad dishes in West Maui? We will have breakfast in our condo. We live in the Santa Cruz area in California, so we are spoiled with lots of great fresh seafood. We leave next Friday for our first visit to Maui/Hawaii. Thanks!!!

There are more choices over on that side, and I don't eat over there on a daily bases, so maybe someone else, Kolohe? can jump in add some inpit too, but If I were going to the west side for lunch today, hmm, OK:
Mixed Plate: Lanahina Mixed Plate or Honokawai Okazuya
Mr. Sub for sandwiches
Again, Lahaina Coolers, breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night. `Ahi burger is my fave.
Cool Cat Cafe, burgers
Kahuna Kabobs for, well kabobs, yummy grilled fish kabobs
Dollies for Pizza, beer and the game
Sunrise Cafe for breakfast. Also, Gazebo
I have eaten at Cilantros Mexican grill once and it was good, but I haven't given it a second and third trial yet.
I also like the hot dog guy who parks his cart across from the banyan tree. He has tofu pups with sauerkraut.

Try Cafe O Lei in Lahaina for lunch. It is located just up the street from Cheeseburger. It was recommended to us by a local and he was right about the food which was very good. Service is a bit slow but the food makes up for the wait. Have a great trip!
