Glacier National Park Itinerary Help!

I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me for our upcoming visit to GNP on Sept. 13th. Right now we are flying into Kalispell from Florida on the 13th and staying 2 nights the Apgar Village Lodge in West Glacier then driving over to the East and staying at St. Mary's Lodge through the 18th. After that, we are open until we leave on Sept. 27th out of Kalispell. I am travelling with my 55 y/o brother (healthy) and my 81 y/o father who is pretty agile but cannot do strenuous hikes. We love the wildlife and I would like to find a fishing trip although it may be too late in the season. I hadn't planned on going to Yellowstone since there will probably more than enough for us to see in that area but I'm open to anything. Thanks so much!

Lake or river fishing? This link should be helpful.

Make sure to drive all of the Going to the Sun road. Check to see if the shuttle service is still running.

How about Many Glacier Inn ? It's in a beautiful area past the GTTS Road, on a lake. Historic old bldg.

I also liked the Lake McDonald Lodge, which is pretty close to Apgar Village.

Love all these ideas. Are there any areas within a few hours of the park we should see? I would love a guided slow float trip and tomfuller I was thinking about getting a river guide.

You might enjoy a day trip driving around Flathead Lake to the National Bison Range. We did this a couple years ago and a herd of bison walked right around our car! The museum there is very interesting. Plan to bring a picnic lunch or to eat elsewhere as there is no food service.

FYI GTTS road is closed due to snow and ice from Big Bend on the west side to Siyeh Bend on the east side. Predictions are for up to 8 inches of snow tonight at Logan Pass. However, sunshine and temps. in the 60's are predicted for Sat. and Sun. so hopefully the snow will melt quickly and the road will reopen.
