I don;t know anyplace you can park overnight (I assume you mean to stay in a hotel somewhere than try to do this RT in one day) since the driving time will be at least 7 hours each way - plus stops and time for traffic which can easily add an hour in each direction just to get to Manhattan. Then at least an hour more to get to the Stadium on the subway.
If you take the car into Manhattan and garage it count on $40 per night.
Even if you drop it in fairly close NJ (Metropark) you have to pay for a safe place in a garage or lot - and then train fare into the city.
As for driving to the Stadium and parking there - it will be incredibly time consuming (traffic backs up for miles and parking is NOT free and lots fill up early). There is no free on street parking nearby since this is a very busy neighborhood and finding a spot to put the car can take hours of circling.
It would help to understand your specific plan in order to give better advice.

You've given us very little information about your trip. Are you staying overnight in a hotel or what? If so, where is the hotel? Please give us more details.
Parking at the Open isn't always as bad as nytraveler paints it. I have driven to US Open many times and parked in its lot. I was never backed up for miles! One of the secrets of avoiding this is to go early, which we did.

Yes, but if coming from Pittsburgh we have no idea when the OP will be arriving.
The fact that the OP doesn't mention a hotel makes me think he might be trying to do this in a day (really not possible) and would not be going early. Yes - if VERY early parking is possible - but after evening matches I have waited more than an hour for a car service to arrive to pick us up (we were with a client) due just to dreadful traffic (Grand Central totally blocked as well as more local routes). And getting there around 5 pm was just as bad - partly due to regular traffic - besides the Open.
