Hello!

My fiance and I are headed to Disney World the first weekend in December together. We have no children and figured that we would go by ourselves before we had them!

I want to make dinner reservations for 3 of the nights that we are there. Can anyone please give suggestions in and out of the park that would be good for two 29 year olds? Also, I am confused by how you make dinner reservations in Epcot, so any information that you can give there would be helpful too!

Additionally, any other suggestions for our long weekend (including and not including food) are MUCH appreciated!

My DH & I went to DW a few years ago by ourselves and we ate at some GREAT places.

For DH's b-day dinner we ate at Shula's Steakhouse at the Dolphin Hotel. This is an upscale steakhouse.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a wonderful place to visit - don't miss it. They have wild animals roaming around outside and a great collection of African art and cultural objects inside. Also, the decor is beautiful. We ate at Jiko - The Cooking Place at the AK Lodge.
"Twin wood-burning ovens roar and the soothing, warm colors of an African sunset bring energy to this remarkable restaurant. The menu includes vegan, vegetarian and meat-based dishes that change seasonally, such as berbere Grilled lamb, Durban shrimp curry and chermoula roasted chicken, along with conventional favorites. Imaginative appetizers include curried potato and corn samosas, and brick oven-fired flatbreads."

We ate at the Moroccan Resto in Epcot which was fun (I cannot remember how to make reservations. You should call the Disney World 800#; I am sure they can assist you)

In EPCOT: Chefs de France or the Le Cellar (sp?) steakhouse in the Canadian but call NOW,...you can do it through the Disney reservations office at 1-407-WDISNEY

You might also enjoy the Flying Fish at the Boardwalk and regardless of having kids or not, the Beaches and cream ice cream place at the Yacht and Beach is an absolute must. Try the "kitchen sink" or the "no way, Jose"

We love the Flying fish on the Boardwalk. Make your reservation in advance because the restaurants get booked early.

Allie, you make EPCOT reservations just as you would any Disney restaurant, by calling (407) WDW-DINE. There are dozens of restaurants both on and of property. Perhaps if you could tell us what types of places do you enjoy. That might make it easier to make suggestions.

Le Cellier is very good. So is Chefs de France. Of the two, we enjoyed Chefs de France a little more. Yachtsman Steakhouse was also very good, if a bit more expensive. None of these places will be child-free, but they are all fairly civilized. The later you eat, the fewer small children in the restaurant.

The only WDW dining experience with very few children we've ever had was afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian, which seems to be patronized almost exclusively by adult women. However, the food is delicious, and it's a very pleasant experience, if your fiance cares for that kind of thing.

Some places to check into - Ohanas at the Polynesian
Yak and Yeti or Rain Forest Cafe at Animal Kingdom
California Grill (or The Wave, if CG is booked) at the contemporary.

If you are looking for a very high end dining experience check out Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian, it is the only restaurant at WDW that has an age limit (10 I think). It is probably the closest thing to a 5 star restaurant that WDW has. It is prixe fixe and not cheap but it is very good. Here are some reviews and meny samples:

We love Flying Fish Cafe-delicious fish & seafood@the Boardwalk:,Narccoossees@ the Grand Floridian-for a special meal(great food,atmosphere & service)& can see Magic Kingdom firework if you time it correctly,and Yachtsman Steakhouse for outrageous steaks@Yacht Club.

Thank you, everyone SO MUCH! We pretty much eat everything and anything so all of these suggestions are great! I think I am going to lookinto the African restaurant for one night, a steakhouse for one night, and maybe something more casual for our third night. I am so excited!

Another quick question - Do you suggest that we buy 4 day "park hopper" passes? Would that be the best way to do it?

The type of pass you need depends on what you want to do. We always get the park hopper passes so we can go to any park whenever we want rather than spending an entire day in one park. It also allows you to apend a day in one park and go t othe night time activity in another.

Jiko's is a great choice. I can also recommend the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

There are a lot of good choices in Downtown Disney for something casual.

I've never gone without having the park hopper option. We almost always wind up visiting more than 1 park a day.

Thank you! I will call Yachtsman Steakhouse too - I hear that I can walk right from Epcot to Yachtsman, so that is a great option! Also, what have you heard about the French restaurant in Epcot: Les Chefs de France? I have a friend at work that thinks the food at Epcot is not very good, but another friend who thinks that they have great food there. Just want to secure my dinner reservations at good places, all of our other eating doesn't matter at all! Thanks again!

Ps. We are definitely gonna go for the park hopper! The price difference just isn't enough to go with the less expensive one. Thanks!

All those folks who are telling you to call & get your dinner reservations now? Do it. WDW reservations fill up quickly even during the slower times of the year. Have some "plan B" restaurant choices in mind when you call.

Our children are grown and I always thought if we returned to Orlando that I would get tickets to the Cirque de Soleil show there, LaNouba. It gets great reviews. We saw O in Las Vegas and it was a really impressive show.

We took our children to Disneyworld when they were in grade school and bought the park hopper ticket. We had a rain out one day and never used one day on the ticket. At the time ( I don't know if this is still true) it had no expiration date. Both our children used their tickets when they went to Disney when they were in college. We still have ours in our file but will use it one day.

Unfortunately, not any longer unless you pay extra for a "no expiration" option.

Chefs de France is a must each trip. Dinner is much better than lunch. My new favorite is La Hacienda de San Angel. I had the best meal there this past October. If you can get ressies for around 8pm you can see the fireworks from your table.
