Disney World - Wilderness Lodge or Coronado Springs?

Planning a trip to Disney World this spring with our two boys (8 and 5). Has anyone stayed at the Wilderness Lodge - opinion? Is the pool really great - are the rooms large enough for 4? How about the new Coronado Springs - the pool/playground area there looks neat. Help!

I want to know about Coronado Springs as well. We are planning a disney trip Dec. 5 I've stayed at Dixi Landing and All Star Music and loved them both. We live in Canada and our dollar is only worth $.68 on the US dollar. Should I stay at Coronado or All Star???? As for Fort Wilderness Lodge. It is my favorite Disney Resort. Although I have never stayed there each time we go to WDW we visit the resort. Wonderful Lobby, great pool and Artist Point restaurant is one of the best in WDW. Try the Canyon Coffee in the lobby. Yummmm If I had the money to stay here there would be no hesitation!!!

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in November of 1996. It was wonderful in every way! We have two boys who were 6 and 9 at the time. Our room was spacious. The boys had bunkbeds and we had a queen or king. We had a balcony that overlooked the courtyard and pool. The boys had a blast at the pool and the geyser went off every hour (reminescent of "Old Faithful") From this hotel it was easy to get to the Magic Kingdom and other parks. The restaurants were the biggest disappointment, as they were not very family friendly. However, we would go back in a heartbeat! Have fun! Andrea

Wilderness Lodge would get my vote...It is more a part of the "World". Many activites for young boys and it is like an adventure to be the theme of the lodge. Coronado Springs on the other hand, is a resort, very big, and you never have to leave it to have a good time. It is seperated from most of the parks in distance. The closest attractions are the water parks. It is newer but I still prefer the Lodge for Boys. The best pool area for kids,in my opinion, would be at the Port Orleans hotel.

Either hotel would be just great and enough room for 4 people. Have stayed at both and you really can't go wrong with either. Advantage to Wilderness Lodge is that you can catch a boat directly from Wilderness Lodge dock to Magic Kingdom and sometimes that is faster than the bus transportation. Enjoy your trip. Love Disney

I haven't been to Coronado Springs but was at the Wilderness Lodge in May '96.
The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are decent sized, artist point restaurant is very good and not outrageously expensive and my daughter loved the pool. It has a small waterslide in it and is not as elaborate as some of the other pools
This hotel has a more peaceful quality to it than some of the others we checked out.
we will be going back in a few months.
I recommend a wooded view. There are balconies to sit out on and enjoy the view. We liked eating breakfast out there or enjoying a glass of wine and talking after our daughter went to sleep.
P.s. I note someone referred to Ft Wilderness Lodge. I think there is a Ft Wilderness but it is not the same thing as the Wilderness Lodge.
