Melissa,
First of all if you leave Page, AZ by 7:30 you should make it to Zion by 10:00 P.M. unless you also have to stop for dinner. If you are exiting Zion by going back over Hwy 9 to Mt. Carmel Junction then you will be able to see the beautiful scenery of Zion that you missed coming in.
If you skip Lake Powell you will save about 120 miles of driving.
It might be more helpful if you posted your whole itinerary. How long will you have in Zion if you go to Lake Powell?

We are arriving in Las vegas 7/7 at 5pm and then traveling to st george Ut .Next AM going to north rim andspending 1 night .Then going to 4pm boat ride on lake powell .We have resevations for 1 night at lake powell and then heading to zion and later that day driving to rubys .We will be spending next day at BRyce and then heading to TOrrey and then on to moab
what do you think? is the boat ride a good use of time?
also, where can we have dinner between las vegas airport and st george. we will be hungry as it will be 8pm east coast time when we land.
also, where can we eat between lake powell and zion if we decide to not stay at lake powell for the night?
Thanks
Melissa

Melissa,
That's a hard call. You're going to be spending 2 to 3 hours longer in a vehicle to do a tour on Lake Powell and then only have a couple of hours in Zion.
If you do go, then I would suggest eating dinner at the Wahweap Marina. The food was good and the view was excellent. You really only other choice will be Kanab, Utah. I would call Springdale, Utah to make sure you can get accommodations on such sort notice before driving that night to Zion.
Are you spending the night in Torrey or moving on to Moab that same day? If you are moving on, then you are just getting a fast glimps of all there is to offer in this area.

My adult daughter and I did the Lake Powell boat ride last summer and truly did not enjoy it due to the extremely low level of the lake. All you could see most of the time were the high canyon walls, and it was stifling hot because there was no way to catch a breeze. I would not recommend it.

The first picture on my webpage (see link above) was taken by the pool as we waited for our food. The first time we ate there a couple of nights before that picture, we ate inside, only because we didn't know we could eat outside. The windows you see to the right are the windows of the restaurant. You have the same views.
BTW, it was overcast that day but if you are there as the sunsets you get magnificant colors!

Not to jump on anybody's thunder here but....
Seems to me like you are spending very short periods of time at GC, Zion and Bryce. Are you intending on doing anything (hiking, minor exploring, horse rides, etc.) at these wonderful parks?
To me you will miss out by not getting "into" the parks at least a little. Doesn't have to be an all day physically exhausting excursion but please do find time to smell the rocks and rivers!
I spent 2 days at Zion last summer and am trying to figure out how to get back and do some things that I feel I missed.
Take it or leave it, just my humble opinion.

placeu2,
I've already pointed out to Melissa that they were only going to get a glimps of each park.
The first time we did these parks we didn't have much time, so we did world wind tours of the area. It was enought so that we knew we would want to come back again, and again and again.... We've been back to some of these parks so many times, I know them like the back of my hand..LOL!
