California tour-grand canyon/yosemite/17 mile/wine county ends @ San Fran

Dear All,

I am planning a trip to California for about 10 days to 14 days in end May till first week of June. I am meeting some frens in the first week of June and will be in San fran and fly home from there. I plan to join some local daily tours and some city sightseeing then while my frens are busy working so as to entertain myself.

Therefore I plan to venture further in the first week and wondering if I should fly in to Las V to tour grand canyon and then fly out to san fran ?
I had wanted to find a 7 days tour or so to bring me to places like grand canyon/yosemite/monterey area 17 mile drive/wine county but cant find any ideal tours as some starts san fran and ends los angeles.
Not sure what are the places I should do first or which ones can be done under day trip sightseeing.

I would prefer to see the natural eco side of california and grand canyon n yosemite/17-mile are priority. Disney can be skipped. Will be even better if I can do Mojave Dessert and Lake tahoe but I know time is limited. Driving is out . Single traveller.

Any suggestions or recommended tours? I need to end in San fran.
Appreciate your time in replying!

Nothing eco about 17 mile drive. It's a drive that allows you to see fancy houses along the Carmel Peninsula. Not worth the cost, in my opinion. It's better to spend a few hours to drive down the coast to Nepenthe to enjoy the view while having some food, or just go to Point Lobos to enjoy the coast and its wildlife--bring binoculars.

Yeah, I'll second that comment about 17-mile. Pay money to drive along and look at rich people's houses and golf courses. Way overrated.

I don't know about tours, since we live in Calif. It seems you should fly into Phoenix, AZ to see the Grand Canyon and pick up a tour that takes you through Death Valley, up the east side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, to Yosemite and maybe on to Lake Tahoe, ending in SF. How to find it, I don't know.

If you don't want to rent a car and go to Grand Canyon on your own, there are plenty of tours that go from Las vegas, both by plane and by bus. Then you could fly from Vegas to SF.
