Brooklyn Heights Brunch

I am visiting NY this weekend with my boyfriend (we're from Philly)and we're planning to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from the Brooklyn side Sunday. Can anyone out there suggest a good place for brunch in BHeights? Phone and street address would be great. Thanks much guys!!

Nancy, take a stroll along Montague Street in Bklyn Heights. It's pretty much the "strip" in that part of town, there are plenty of nice restaurants there, most with tables outside and some with gardens in back. Wide variety of food, you can have your pick & it's generally pretty good food. Have a great time in the Heights!

If you want to venture into DUMBO, which is much closer to the BB than Montague Street, you'll have to check out Superfine, a new, hip bar/restaurant in a former auto garage on Front Street, almost directly under the Manhattan Bridge. They have Sunday brunch...most dishes have a Mexican flair. They sometimes (always?) have a live band during brunch. I love the casual yet funky atmosphere of this place!

Up in the Heights, the closest place to the BB to have brunch is the Clark Street Diner (at least I think that's what it's called) at the corner of Clark and Henry Street. They have everything you can imagine, including big, fat, yummy blueberry pancakes. I go there often.

The Heights Cafe on Montague & Hicks Street (718-625-5555) has good brunch food too...it's a little more upscale, but you definitely don't have to be dressed up.

One more question...can we walk from BH to the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory at Fulton Ferry Landing? I am having a little difficulty map-questing it's location. Thanks in advance!!

If you want someplace really nice with a spectacular setting (right UNDER the Brooklyn Bridge) there's the River Cafe.

For brunch? I think that is a little too fabulous John. But it does have a great view Nancy if you can afford it.

Thanks gius for all your suggestions. I had an excellent time in Brooklyn yesterday. Had brunch at Heights Cafe, a hip and a skip away from the promenade, had the best ice cream in recent memory at the Brooklyn Ice Cream factory next door to the River Cafe and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. Looooved it!! Thanks!!

Glad you had a good time. That ice cream is the BEST, especially the strawberry.

I noticed that the Clark Street Diner is gone-literally. There is just a big hole in the building where it once was...almost looks like there was a fire or explosion or something - weird. Or perhaps they're just doing a massive renovation. Does anyone who lives up there know what's going on?

Hi Nancy....I did read in New York Magazine that they had the best strawberry but guess what? they ran out of it yesterday!! I was so disappointed. But the chocolate was deep and dark and really fab though.
