Sue,
Would you consider flying into St. Louis and renting a car? Not sure when you are going, but I just checked Orbitz for a midweek September departure, and the fare was $181! Non-stop on American. You could get a nice car for $400 a week!
I think it's about 250 miles from St. Louis to Branson and it's not a bad drive.

I went to Branson in April. Only ONE airline flies into Branson/Springfield from St. Louis. We flew in on a prop jet to Branson/Springfield AP & but flew out on what looked like a 30 seater 40's bomber. It was horrible. We rented a car at Branson/Springfield AP & drove into Branson. Nice quick drive about 45 minutes.

Please JJ, don't assume that I am melodramatic! I have flown a lot of places & never have I been on a plan that had fold down seats, 10 rows of 2 seats on the right side of the plane and 10 rows of 1 seat on the left side of the plane. The seats 'folded down'. This thing looked like a bomber. No arm rests and the floors had a rubber mat.
Believe me, it was scarry and I probably won't do it again if that is the only way they will fly me back to St. Louis!

Tulsa is closer to Springfield than St. Louis. And by the way, Springfield/Branson Airport is not as big as St. Louis or Tulsa, but it is fairly large and nice for a city the size of Springfield (150,000+) It is one of the fastast growing airports in the country. I've flown of SGF many times and never on a prop plan.
