Boat Charter in Fort Lauderdale?

My GF and I will be in Fort Lauderdale for a few days, the week of March 3. Can anyone suggest a great place for renting 1/2 day or full day on a boat? We don't want a party boat, hoards of people, or kids. A gay cruise would be preferable, but it doesn't have to be. A few other people on the boat would be fine, but probably less than 12. I'm thinking a catamaran. Doesn't have to be a snorkel boat, since Ft. Lauderdale isn't known for that, but that type of boat would be perfect. Prices? Captain included, of course.

Thanks,

Annie

Annie, are you looking for a boat you can drive yourself or a boat trip?

GoTravel,

We DEF need a captain. If I were piloting the boat, I think we'd wind up in China ;-)

Annie, I don't know if you can swing a trip to Miami but Dr.George's boat tour of Stiltsville and Biscayne Bay is the top of the line for me.

Here is the link to the Sun-Sentinal's top 10 boat cruises. I've heard a lot of good things about The Jungle Queen.

Actually, we're not looking for a cruise/tour. We just want to be on a boat out in the ocean, near Fort Lauderdale. If there were really good reefs, I'd say we'd go snorkeling, but once you've been to John Penekamp off of Key Largo, anything less would just be a disappointment.

I know you can rent boats at the Halouver Marina which is in Northern Miami-Dade county - just north of miami beach(bal harbour) and south of sunny isles.

Wait let me check the broward county site. Try calling the marina listed on this page

Good luck.
