Biltmore, Asheville
What is the average amount of time needed to see the mansion with audio tape, gardens and winery at the Biltmore Estate. We will be there on Thursday, June 11 to give you an idea of time of year.

I would allow a minimum of 4-5 hours, if you're pressed for time, and most of a day, if you can. In my experience, it usually takes close to 2 hours to really see the house, unless you just run room to room. The gardens are pretty extensive, and if you like that sort of thing, could take quite a while to see thoroughly. The Winery tour is relatively short and includes a 10 minute film about the history of the Winery buildings. The length of time spent there depends on how much wine tasting you plan on doing after the tour. Biltmore is beautiful and considering the cost of admission, I would definitely try to allow enough time to do it justice.

I would give the full day. My aunt and I visited for Xmas (she had never been) we barely had enough time to eat lunch at Deerpark, do the audio tour (and now they have added MORE rooms) and take short break in the Stable shops. I would give a full 1+ hours for the winery depending upon how much wine tasting you want to do. You can do things faster but I would want to enjoy the entire day and gardens.

Agreed! The Biltmore is the type of place that can take your mind back 100 years and make you want to soak it up for as long as you can...
Spend as much time as you can there. I've been 4 times now and plan to go back this summer and still haven't seen the half of it!

It's a beautiful place, for fall and especially candelight tours of the house at Christmas Nov-Dec. You can add a day for $10 to your purchase price of around %50 for one day, so we are going soon and planning to do as much as we can for 2 days. I have been probably 4 times forn only one day over the past 40 years, and it just keeps getting better and more to see. It is awesome!

I agree with Bestsy...we were there last Thursday...you can easily spend the day there. They are adding another building/exhibit which is between the winery and the kitchen garden/petting zoo which is to be open in Spring 2010.
