Big Island: Kona Resort or 4S?

I'll be on the Big Island end of August-beginning of Sept. for my honeymoon, and have one more decision to make -- stay at the Kona Village Resort for a few nights or stay at the 4S resort. It appears that Kona Village is great for relaxation, but the amenities of the 4S seem great. Anyone with experiences or opinions on each?

Thanks a million!

Kona Village is a great place to stay. We felt right at home. 4S Resort was a little too posh for us as were traveling with 2 teenaged boys.

Yes, the Hualalai is fabulous. From golf course to spa it is a wonderful spot for honeymoon. The tropical fish pond and the outdoor garden shower rooms are truly relaxing.

My vote would be for the Four Seasons- it is such a wonderful property and they will pamper you. Ask for a room with an outdoor garden shower(you will also have an indoor shower) and the spa is fabulous. The golf is also great.
Happy Honeymooning!

FS is the second highest rated resort in the islands and Kona isn't in the top 10. For a honeymoon? Gotta be the FS.

Without a thought, Four Seasons is an absolute must. Me and my husband went there for our honeymoon in November and we still fantasize about it everyday.

Thanks for the replies -- we're set and are going to do 3 nights at the Hulualoa Inn, 1 night at Kileaua Lodge, and then 4 nights at the 4S.

Thanks again.
