Atlantic Oceanfront Accomodations Florida/Georgia

I am searching for a studio/one bedroom/hotel with kitchen somewhere in this area where we can hear the waves when we sleep. I've looked at at lot of VRBO along the coast in thia area and they seem all so far away from the water even if they are oceanfront. We want to walk out the door and feel the sand and we want to see and hear the ocean from our room/condo. Any recommendations?

Did you try Jekyll Island or St. Simons Island?

You can hear the ocean from 200 yards away.

I did look at St Simons but I remember OO saying she was not fond of Tybee and since they are close I wondered if St Simmons was better. Thanks, I will look at it again.

In St. Augustine (i.e. Crescent Beach)
try Beachers Lodge <http://www.beacherslodge.com/>.
Choose an upper floor (3rd or 4th) King suite for best views. It meets all of your requirements.

We stayed at the doubletree in Melbourne and it was great. Seeing the sun come up over the ocean, hearing the waves lapping at the beach. Oh, how I want to be back there.

I know, hearing those waves and seeing the day come alive is just wonderful! Thanks for the recommendation, I looked it up and it looks beautiful, but we want a kitchen.

cd, just about anywhere that's oceanfront in Brevard county Florida (Melbourne Beach, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach) will be right on the beach, waves and all.

Ditto what Vic says about St. Augustine Beaches - we have relatives who've stayed at Summerhouse Condos (www.summerhousecondo.com) and enjoyed it, but there are many others on that stretch of beach I'm sure you'd like.

That is great information! The waves and close proximity to the water is what is the most important to us.

cd, though I am partial to Brevard county, where I live, I have to say that the Crescent Beach area Orlando Vic mentions is less developed, and therefore in my opinion, better.
