Atlanta Airport - Does it have the payable sleep cubicles?

DH is driving 4- 4.5 hrs. to pick up DS2 from ATL tomorrow night. DH is known for his ease of falling asleep. He'd like to drive up in the early evening & 'get a nap' before the plane arrives & then turn around for the drive back home. I know I've seen nap cubicles in an airport, but can't remember if it was in ATL?

Thanks.

Vancouver airport has wonderful sleep pods but according to this review, the Atlanta airport is not a great place to sleep: http://www.sleepinginairports.net/usa/atlanta.htm

Grandmommy: That did not seem to address the question of the existence of pods at ATL, did it? - or did I miss something here?

olesouthernbelle: I can't say for certain, but I am pretty sure Atlanta does not have sleep cubes. This is pretty much a "non-US-concept" e.g., Tokyo, New Zealand, and apparently, Vancouver, have them. America hasn't tapped into the demand yet. Atlanta is the perfect venue since it is an international hub, and it had more than its share of serious delays, but it is not very user-friendly...except for a million fast-food joints. Frankly, since DH is picking up, he can't get very far into airport anyway. Therefore, an airport hotel would serve same purpose.

Ok, Thanks, suite7 - though, I'm sure I've seen them in an airport in the somewhere in the states. Must not have been ATL. Oh well.

Some of the "airline clubs" have rooms to rent for a few hours to sleep, you might check for a daily rate. Other than that you might find a hotel close to the airpot that has a day rate as well.

You can;t get into the airline clubs unless you have a ticket and a boarding pass - they're beyond security. If you google the airport web site it will list all of the services they provide. I glanced and didn;t see any sleep places - but you may want to do a more thorough search.

I've decided to go with him (& not so early) to ensure at least one of us can nap now & then. Thanks all!

From my friend:

"I have never seen nap cubicles at Hartzfield Jackson and I know that airport as well as anyone."

Thank you for check, TDudette. We ended up being up all night, as DS@ missed his Denver connection - says the clock was 25 minutes off. Instead of a 11:58PM arrival, it was 7:10AM. Delays also because of weather. We've just gotten home a little while ago.
