At Zion, Bryce lodges: jeans and sweatshirt ok for dinner?

Or do folks get slightly more "dressed up"?

Yes, anything will work but I think you might be more comfortable just slightly dressier. Perhaps clean, neat jeans with a nice shirt or sweater?

You will see anything. Dressed up people (still casual) sitting next to a group of hikers fresh down from the trail. Husband wore shorts to my dismay but he was not sticking out.

LOL, 'Husband wore shorts to my dismay but he was not sticking out.' Marigross, how short were his shorts?

I just made reservations this morning for Zion Lodge. The person making our room reservation said that reservations are mandatory for the dining room, which she described as "fine dining with casual dress". LOL If that isn't a "take your pick" dress code, I don't know what is!!

How is the food there, does anyone know? Expensive or no? Are we better off eating in Springdale? This is not our first trip to Zion, but it will be the first time staying within the park and dining at the Lodge.

I was there in July and had the red mountain trout for lunch. It was very good. Also ate at the "spotted dog cafe" in springdale, the nut crusted trout was excellent.

Anyone care to advise whether a solid color tie would go better with a plaid shirt than a stripe? And are hiking boots appropriate for evening meals?
