Any new Fodorites tonight?

I'd like to extend a welcome to anyone new. I hail from Alaska, and happily answer any questions I am able to(and others you may wish not to know)
Please feel welcome to join in, and where are you from? Where are you planning to travel this summer, both at home and/or abroad? Happy summer from Jetset

Howdy! Actually I am not new but have been "inactive" for the past year or so. I think I started on this board at least 6-7 years ago. Remember the "Mole People"?

Anyways--I am from Los Angeles where I live with my DH and a fiesty cat.

Travel this year has/will include: weekends in Santa Barbara and San Diego. Big Island in Sept, to CT to visit the folks, and some business travel.

Happy Tuesday--the heat finally broke in LA this evening. Thank goodness!

I still laugh when I think of who ever came up with "Mole-iere". !

Or, the annoying but kind of amusing "KIELBASA"!

Alisa,

If memory serves me correctly, you still owe us a trip report from Kauai . Also, where did you decide to go to brunch? Inquiring minds want to know!

topping.. I want to get more diversity here, and any "hellos" in another language besides Spanish?
How about where you are from and do you speak another language?
Exchange student living with you or did you participate in such a program while younger? J.

Hi
Im new enough to say Im new and old enough to know how annoying it can be to you "expert fodorites" when us newbies ask the most open and repeated questions. I will say its because you come across this site and dont really realize what its all about, jump right in with both feet asking some question that pertains to you and dont realize the wealth of info that is already here. Thanks Jetset for your patience and for the big welcoming hello!!!!!
Im Canadian and would love to get to Alaska sometime. keep up your great helpful support.

Crap--I wondered if I might get caught for the Kauai non-post. !Had an amazing time and my review IS half-done. On my computer. I pormise to finish and do a more speedy one when I return from the BI in September.

As for Brunch--we are going to the Warehouse. It's cheap and probably more kid friendly. A few mixed reviews, but hey, how bad can an omelette and waffle bar be?

irecommend~ well, most of the time, we're fairly helpful and civil, but heat, high gas prices, cheap wine and lack of enough getaways will make for some scary stuff "round these parts"...
welcome aboard! I love Canada, and where are you exactly? I have always wanted to take a train ride across the country. Wish I spoke French.
Where are the bargains from where you are? Whenever I've gone to Las Vegas, there seems to be friendly Canadians on my flight. Best, J.

I think I would be considered "New". I've been posting for months, but I've noticed several folks that seem to have been posting for years!

I'm originally from Delaware, but hubby & I reside in Virginia Beach. Within the last few months, we went to Maui, Gulf Shores and Rehoboth Beach. Getting ready to go on my first trip to Chicago in about two weeks!

Other than that, we travel back and forth to Pittsburgh to visit our daughter. Our next BIG trip is in February when we are renting a villa in T&C!

Been posting longer on tripadvisor.com, but I LOVE this site and have gotten a lot of great and useful info.

Happy Traveling Everyone!

I live three hours from Toronto, one hour from Detroit. Bargains??? Nothing around here, though have travelled to the East Coast of Canada his spring to pick up my daughter from University there and on the way home found Quebec City to be reasonable and amazing. Heading west to Alberta to mountain climb in two weeks so will report on the "bargains" there!

I'm new today.

I joined because I want to bask in the warm glow of love that I feel comes from the other members of this esteemed organization, which has such high standards for membership.

I will try to avoid mocking those who misspell obscure place names, but I know it won't be easy.

I know that if I have one idea that will help one fellow traveler, I will have made an important contribution. What more can I ask? (Rhetorical)

All aglow, I am, very truly yours, L.M. Sunshine

Li'l Mary~ lol. Yup, the fun in dis-forum-function is all here, good or bad, happy or sad.
We oughta stay togethah, travelers forevah, upgrades cannot be had, no free meals but please be glad, F.A.'s always lookin mad, overhead bins a passing fad, overbooked by just a tad, seat kicked by a tiny lad, bullied by an irate dad, looking for a landing pad, socks argyle or plain old plaid, I could go on but this is sad....

hi jetset1! thank you for welcoming me to Fodor's. This is my first post, I've just been a lurker (story of my life haha) but you sounded so real. My mother who recently passed left me some money so I plan on traveling soon. I don't know where, I feel I've been strapped to her bedside since birth, but now the world is calling me, "Storm, time to travel" I love this board, Mama always laughed at me when I told her I was going to travel one day. The fantasies I've had, you wouldn't believe, Mama said I had high hopes but tiny ankles. Someday I'd like to travel to Alaska and even Minnesota to see the Mall of America, that is my lifelong dream. Someday I might even travel to Texas and see the Alamo. Mama had a picture of the Alamo above the divan in the parlor, though I don't know why as we're not of Spanish descent. Mama said she liked the arches. So many places to see! I feel like a bird dog in a duckpond. I hope all the people here are as nice and welcoming as you, some of them seem like they only like each other and won't accept newbies as they call them. I certainly hope I'm wrong in my thinking. Mama always said keep to yourself and you only have yourself to blame. Well it's time for my glass of red wine, Mama only allowed me one, though tonight I just might have two to celebrate my first posting here! Thanks again jetset1!
