Any Haunted tours in New Orleans really worth it?

Will be in NOLA 7/18-22. Wanted to possibly take a Haunted tour. Could you recommend any tours?(cost?) Are they really worth it?Driving in from Dallas and was also considering staying at The Mrytles B&B one night, any comments, stories, info or other suggestions?

Yes, they are. Find Richard Rochester's tour. He is the best haunted tour guide.

Richard's tour is called "Magic Walking Tours" 504-588-9693. Be sure Richard is your guide.

We took the Gray Line Ghost Tour - very good tour ($18 per person). DO NOT take the New Orleans Ghost Tour - you will spend more time in the bar waiting for the tour guide to stop trying to drum up bar business than you will on the tour.

We also spent a night at The Myrtles, we had a very spooky night in the Peach Room.

The ONLY Haunted tours to take in New Olreans in Haunted History Tours. The vampire night tours are excellent. They are the only way to go. The tour guides are very Gothic and very informed on the history. They can be emailed at [email protected] or phoned at (888)6ghosts. I have taken other tours and they were not as informative OR entertaining.

Liz, get a clue please. You keep saying the ONLY tour and the ONLY place to stay is this or that. Give us a break and quit advertising, OK?

Read the dates of original postings and get over being nasty. The visitors have been there and gone. Catch up.

Future travelers may benefit from my experience. Besides I can post anything I want as I have traveled to New Orleans many times and have much experience in which places suck. So get a life and stop being so rude.

You guys need to stop bickering! I thought this site was suppose to be about travel, right? Let Liz have her own oppinions if she wants to. Its her right. You guys are so nasty to her and you know it. That's why you guys won't put your real name. You two are a discrase to the travel industry and man kind. You two should have you passports revoked, you lips stapled shut, and your computer taken away. How dare you snap at some one for their own opinion.
I happen to have taken the same tour she did and I can understand why she loved it so much. And other people can benifit from this as well. I have been helped by post that were put up almost a year ago. Now you two learn to play nice and let others have their opinions.

Now, my reply to this post. Yes, the Haunted History Tours are fabulous. For anyone going there I suggest taking that for at least one tour while you are there.

Steph, a "discrace"? God, go back to school. "Disgrace" is more like it.

As for the "bickering," I have no clue as I've never taken a tour but at least I'll admit such.

I'd have to say that it is very pompous to say a place is the ONLY place to stay or a tour is the ONLY tour or a restaurant is the ONLY place to eat. In fact, rarely is this true as we simply can't try all of the options.

So, Liz, just say it's great! That will be more helpful.

Ill state my own opinion in my own way. I thought Fodors would be a great place to read travel forums but I have seen too much anger and bitterness from a small amount of people since I have started and I think its sad to be so hateful to someone who just wants to talk to others.

Thank you Maria. I don't see how spelling was important to the conversation at all. Now let's please, dear God, get back to travel! Luann, please just talk about some travel instead of correcting peoples spelling. At least in my post I had one important thing related to Travel in it. And here is my important Travel tip for this post.

If you go to New Orleans, bring an umbrella..

Enjoy your stay folks! And don't let people like Luann, or those xxx people get your hopes down on this message bored. Have fun and lets talk about that fabulous city of New Orleans, shall we?

First of all, Liz, how much is Sidney paying you to brag about his tours? Haunted History is not all that. They have gone way downhill over the past year. The new tour guides are inexperienced at best and the bar they take you to on the break treats you like just another wallet to pick. I took that tour and had a very bad experience. My friends talked me into trying the New Orleans Ghost Tour the next night and we had an excellent experience there! The guide (Randy) really knew what he was talking about and he had a license. We arrived at 7:45pm and the tour started a few mniutes after 8pm, right on time. Our bar break was about 10 minutes at The Morgue, which we really liked because the bartender (Kevin, I think) was very nice to us and gave us very personal service. Everyone wanted to know if we were having fun, and we liked that they cared about us and not just our money. That is MY opinion! I'm just a tourist from San Diego, I don't work for any of these people, before I get accused.

What a coincidence that "Sarah" is extolling the virtues of "The Morgue" (a dreadful bar at best) at the same time "Allyson," a proclaimed NO Ghost Tour employee/advocate, is posting on other threads.

No ads, troll!

It's pretty obvious that the same people are posting under different names. Pathetic.

Sarah your my neighbor I live in Orange County,Ca up by Disneyland. Wish Sid was paying me, I'd love to work for them, but it would be a long commute. I just really enjoyed their tours.
