Amtrak Parking at Route 128/Westwood MA???
I'm taking Amtrak from Route 128 to Penn Station next Friday, Oct 23 and I'll be leaving my car for the weekend. Train leaves 128 at 11:20 AM. I've driven by the exit from 128/95 thousands of times but have never really paid attention so --Is the parking for Amtrak and the Commuter Rail the same place? Will I have any problem finding a space at 11:00 AM? I'll be leaving the car until Sunday afternoon---any problem with that? And although I said I've driven by the exit thousands of times now I'm wondering if there are two exits, one for Amtrak and one for the commuter rail?
Thanks for any and all help.

The commuter rail and Amtrak are the same place, no separate exits. I know you can leave your car there overnight, not sure what the parking situation will be like, it's a huge lot so I assume there would be spots but I'm not entirely sure.

DH takes Amtrak Westwood-NYC at least once/month. He has always found a spot - and even called to ask since he had same concerns - the guy told him the lot was never totally full. He has also left his car there overnight for as long as 3 days - also not a problem. He recalls commuter rail and Amtrak being same lot or area, but says he is not 100% positive about that one.

Its a huge parking lot, over 2000 spaces. Parking is $12/day, and you can even pay with your FastLane/EzPass transponder if you want to. I've left the car there for several days at a time and never had a problem.
I've only used Amtrak from there, but I'm pretty sure its the same station/parking as the commuter rail.

I've only used the station once and that was last November, but I arrived at about 2:30 p.m. and had no trouble finding a space.
The commuter rail counter and the Amtrak counter are on different floors. I "think" the Amtrak counter was on the second floor so try to find a space there.

Parking for Amtrak at the 128 station is in the same garage as the commuter lot. However, the parking areas are different. I believe you enter the garage in a different location for Amtrak parking, which is on the ground floor right outside the station. There are ample parking places and there is no problem in overnight parking.
If you are worried about finding the correct lot why not do a drive-by before your trip. That way you'll have peace of mind knowing where to go.

Thank you all very much---this is the classic for me "I know where I'm going how hard can it be!!" Your information and advice is much appreciated---and I think tomorrow I may take Sharona's idea and just do a dry run. Thanks very much!
