Hello!
Out of these ports:
Skagway
Juneau
Seward
Ketchikan
Icy Straight
Anchorage
Which is the BEST value/scenery for a helicopter flight tour and any suggestions on specific companies??
Thanks!!!

I only did one, so it's hard to give some kind of comprehensive value comparison. However, we loved the glacier landing in Juneau. We used Coastal helicopters.
Ketchikan is more known for the flightseeing trips to Misty Fjord, and doing floatplane landings there. My brother loved that.

What are you doing after you disembark at Seward/Whittier? For around the same price as one of the helicopter excursions offered by the cruise lines, you can do a flightseeing tour of Denali on a floatplane from Anchorage. Everybody gets a window seat and you'll see a wider selection of landscapes - rivers, glaciers, forests, probably some wildlife, and of course Denali itself - indescribable when viewed from a light plane. Look at Rust's - http://www.flyrusts.com/ - for example.

Gardyloo- I am all for holding off until Anchorage. When we land in Seward from the cruise, we are staying the rest of the weekend in Anchorage.
However- I watch some of the videos of flight tours in Skagway, and it seems incredible.
It seems the Denali flights are more up close and personal and the Skagway tours are from really far away, and theres not much hope for wildlife sightings? Maybe I am researching this all wrong!
We want the perfect mix of seeing the mountains/ranges and catching a bear or moose in its natural habitat. You seem to strongly suggest Anchorage for all that!
I did find one company that does bear viewing tours from a flight tour- I just want to make sure the money we are spending we get the most bang for our buck with the scenery of the flight and not just the bear viewing tour.
Also- is there a dramatic difference between a float plane and just a plane?
