Earlier this year, with hopes of going on spring break, I saw RT 326 from SF to Hawaii about a month in advance. If you can wait a bit, you might be able to hit something like that.

Have you tried Burbank? Aloha flies out of Burbank and they usually have good sales. We were in HI last July (high season) and we paid $199 each roundtrip from Orange County to HNL, through Aloha Airlines. After Thanksgiving, they had flights for $119 one way to Maui. I usually find good deals either Hawaiian or Aloha. Make sure you sign up in their websites to get notified of sales.

Usually Hawaiian Air has a sale in Jan for Jan-June. Just as long as it's not spring break. Can't help you there.

Wow, its great that you were able to get mileage tickets, with Delta I had to book as soon as the seats opened up, almost a year in advance. Can anybody tell me if that's pretty typical with other airlines as well?
Anyway, have a great trip!
