Accomodations in Boston

The average price of a room in Boston has now reached $200 according to our local newspapers. To try to find a room for less than this, why not do a web search for Bed and Breakfasts in the Boston area? There are many sites that book B&B's on the internet though I cannot reccomend any in particular. Also, the farther out of the downtown Boston area you go, the lower the room rates seem to be. Good luck. Oh, and do a search here for Boston and see all the good advice we've already given.

My husband and I stayed at the Club Quarters in Boston in September and paid roughly $100 per night. The hotel was located 2 blocks from Fanueil (sp?) hall. Others in this forum have been unimpressed with the hotel. While definitely not a luxury hotel (what do you expect for the price) it was a fine place to sleep. The room was really small, but clean. It was perfect for a couple sightseers who didn't spend much time at the hotel.

Ralph is correct. This Fourm has grossly deteriorated over the past several years. Due to folks with nothing to offer who lambaste those with plenty to contribute. This, by the way, is a "real" screen name and e-mail address, but I used to be someone else who spent hours upon hours providing useful tips and information to those inquiring herein. Too bad.

Try the Newbury Guest House. It has gotten good reviews on this forum and I have heard from two people personally who stayed there and said it was great. Rooms run about $155 to $175 a night. Check out Fodors hotel suggestions on this website for Boston. It lists Newbury's address and phone number.

Jocilio: the Newbury Guest House is indeed a good suggestion; we love it, and the last time we were there the rate was just under $150 (of course it was January!). Also, please don't be discouraged by Ralph's and Maura's comments. The info you are looking for is here via the Search, and there are still many faithful and willing contributors. Donna is one of them, and I know the Search function will bring up lots of info about Boston hotels from her.
