13-hour layover in Miami intl' airport, 2 kids, any suggestions?

Hi everyone: seems I have a big problem. I will arrive on May 07 5:30pm at Miami intl' airport from Brazil (8-hour trip!). My next destination is San Francisco but I was able to book a flight only on May 08 at 06:45am. What are my best options in this 13-hour layover? The issue here is that I am travelling with my wife and 2 small kids, ages 2 and 4. Any decent and cheap hotels nearby? Any suggestion are welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

My suggestion would be an airport hotel of hotwire.

I have used Amerisuites at MIA several times and been very pleased. They have a pool for the kids, as well as a shuttle to and from the airport. There is also a Burger King and Boston Market practically in the same parking lot to get some food for the little ones.

There are also numerous other affordable airport hotels nearby with similar amenities. I like the little extras and added space at Amerisuites, though.

Cchean,

There is a hotel right in MIA airport. Pool on the roof. If I'm not mistaken it may be Marriott. Very nice.

Sorry, the hotel in the airport is not a Marriott. If you pull up MIA hotel on Expedia.com you'll find the info.
It just might be nice w/ such an early flight not to have to shuttle luggage around.

Here's the link that will refer you to the hotel in concourse E at MIA that is referred to above. Yes, it would be easier as far as hauling luggage, but in my experience it can be more expensive than hotels off the airport premises. Sometimes one gets lucky with pricing, though, so check it out.

I haven't stayed there myself, but I put my parents up there for an overnighter between connections and they really liked the convenience.
