1 day drive from Brookings, OR to Sebastapol, CA
We will be spending one long day on Wednesday, 3/28/12, driving between Brookings OR and Sebastapol, CA. Having read several tour guides, it looks like there are many gorgeous beaches/headlands and other scenic areas. I'd appreciate suggestions.
Will definitely go through Avenue of the Giants and stop at Mendocino.
Anyone been to "Glass Beach"? I collect sea glass and would love to hear opinions about this area.
Thanks!

According to Google map, the most direct route is a 6 hour drive. You will not have much time for sightseeing, especially if you detour to Mendocino where you presumably will want to stop to see the town.

About Glass Beach:
"The beach is now frequently visited by tourists. Though not officially permitted, many still scour the beach for interesting curios to take home as souvenirs. The glass is no longer allowed to be taken from the beach."

The 6 hour drive is down 101 and doesn't get you near Mendocino
If you want Mendocino/Ft Bragg you will have about 7.5 hours 'car time' w/o any stops.
And no, you can't collect the glass on Glass beach
