Flavio Huamani for Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley Tour?
Hi All,
I'm preparing to book a very brief trip to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. I came across Flavio Huamani as an inexpensive tour guide who take me to the places I would like to see in a short period of time (2.5 days). Does anyone know anything about him? I would like to book soon, so any feedback I can get would be appreciated.
Alternatively, if anyone can recommend a great inexpensive tour operator for this region, it would be appreciated. I've done some searches on here (and in other forums) and it seems like there are a lot of recommendations, but not a lot of consensus. So, advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Never heard of Flavio but there are hundreds of guides in the SV, most are average, some really bad and some really good. We used Miguel Joven for our Lares trek who was based in the South America Explorers Club in San Blas. www.saexplorers.org (they have links with other inexpensive operators).

I couldn't recommend Miguel highly enough but I think he may be more of a trekking guide than a sightseeing guide but may be available.
SA explorers have lots of current infoand trip reports on guides at their club house and it is also available online (but I think you have to join to access.
You could also check out www.andeantravelweb.com

Flavio is great Salkantay Treks for me from $300
good personal experience well reviewed on boards.
www.incalandadventures.com his web site
beware unlicensed guides and many scammers never wire money.
andeatravelweb.com
good info... found Flavio to be the most cost-effective...
inkajungletrail.com Lorenzo the jungle route can be self
guided even cheaper if super budget but not as nice.
Happy Planning,

Thanks for the responses. I'm actually not doing the Inca Trail- I just need a guide to show me around Machu Picchu after I take the train and bus up there. Is Flavio good in that regard? Or any other recommendations for tour guides that know a lot about the site and can communicate that well in English?
Thanks so much!

Flavio is awesome. You will not regret traveling with him and Incaland Adventures. I've done three trips with him already and have more in the works. He's knowledgeable, patient, detail-oriented, speaks good English and is basically just a fun guy.
