Amsterdam, Delft, Leukenhof April 2024

Hey there!
we are headed to Amsterdam in April for 9 days. We definitely intend to see the tulips at Leukenhof, Delft, and possibly other day trips. Can someone recommend the best route to see these destinations? We are definitely prefer smaller, quieter places however Amsterdam is a must. Any insight on the I Amsterdam pass?
respectfully,
mary

Maybe consult some guides and narrow down what you like? Especially Keukenhof is well described. Apart from Amsterdam, also consider staying in Haarlem or Leiden and do Amsterdam as a daytrip.Value of the Amsterdam pass depends on your itinerary.

For a day trip from Amsterdam I recommend Enkhuizen:

Those destinations are all close together, so I believe you could have one home base and then take day trips. I have enjoyed visiting Delft and reading The Girl With the Pearl Earring before going there. From researching Kuekenhof, that looks like a definite trip to plan far ahead. For me, Kroller Muller is a must and takes a full day.

We stayed in Rotterdam when we visited Delft and also did a day trip to Kinderdejk windmills from there. If you prefer smaller places, consider staying in Delft directly. It's well connected with both Rotterdam and The Hague. I agree that staying in Haarlem and travelling into Amsterdam from there might be better for you if you like smaller places.
