Ocean House or Weekapaug Inn for January Birthday?

The Weekapaug Inn is set on a quiet salt pond, Ocean House on a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, so on scenery alone I'd choose Ocean House. Watch Hill will be dead, and Weekapaug is a purely residential neighborhood. Both are part of Westerly, where there will be some life downtown. We have a house in the area, so I haven't stayed at either. My wife had lunch at the Ocean House this summer and said it was fine.

Like Fra-Diablo, I have a summer home nearby, so have not stayed in either property, but Ocean House is much more special IMHO.
I did have lunch on the veranda and snooper around a bit. You will not be using the beach for swimming, but it is a hike down the cliff to the beach. Views of the ocean are spectacular and I would guess you can see Block Island on a clear day.
