Query regarding travelling via Muscat airport
I am travelling to India via Oman Air in December with family. For the onward journey, I would arrive at Muscat airport at 7.25 pm and have 6.30 hrs layover.
For the return journey in Jan, I would arrive at the airport at 6.00pm and have 9 hrs layover at the same airport. Few queries regarding this journey.
1. Myself and family are EU (IRISH) citizens. So do we need to take transit / tourist visa to come out of Muscat airport? If required what would be the cost? Is it free visa on arrival?
2. Are there any shopping malls near the airport with restaurants etc? What distance is this located?
3. Is the "Prime class lounge" fees is OMR 20 / person worth the money?
4. Do foreign woman need to wear Pardah at shopping centres etc?
5. Considering the arrival times for the onward and return journey, is there any place of interest I could visit with this time?
Appreciate any help. Thanks...

From the RoI DFA:
“Irish citizens can visit Oman without a visa if the stay is less than 14 days. This exemption is subject to certain requirements including a prior and confirmed hotel booking, health insurance, and a return ticket.” Look in the Additional Information tab.
