Hi Everyone,

I am planning to take a vacation in August with my 3 young boys (ages 8 and 4 by then) and I am looking for a great kid friendly beach resort in the US or Caribbean. Any recommendations?

I looked into Beaches Turks and Caicos, but it's booked up. I am considering Tradewinds in St. Pete's Beach which has movies in the pool at night, some pirate shows, kids club and a great beach, but I've been there and would like to try something new.

any advice is welcome. Thanks!!

Akumal on the Mexican Caribbean is very kid friendly, but I'm not sure if I would want to be in the Caribbean in August with temps in the high 90's and lots of humidity. There are so many nice beaches on the east coast of the US like Cape Cod, Virginia, Cape Hatteras North Carolina, Maine, Rhode Island, New Jersey, etc - it depends on what you want.

We have taken our kids and grands to the beach in SC and NC for about 50 years. We build sand castles during the day--maybe some putt putt in early evening and then they are in bed, ready for the next day.
Surfside Beach, Litchfield, Ocean Isle, NC, Myrtle Beach.

Thanks everyone! We have definitely decided against Florida in August. We would love to find a resort similar to Tradewinds in either Cape Cod, Jersey Shore (not sure the Shore has these kinds of Resorts), or somewhere along the East Coast down to South Carolina. Any resort recommendations?
