Where to eat??
Does anyone have any great recommendations for dinners at the following places:
San Jose
Arenal
Monteverde
MA
This will be my honeymoon and our first time in Costa Rica!!
Also: Where would you canopy if you had to choose between Arenal and Monteverde, same question for horseback riding??
Any MUST DO's or MUST SEE's for any of our places??
Thanks
Our itinerary:
Day 1- Arrive in San Jose
Day 2 - Rio Pan Pacuare 1 day trip
Day 3 & 4 Arenal
Day 5 & 6 - Monetverde
Day 7 - Villas Calletas (this was a gift from a friend, we were going to have 3 nights in the jungle)
Day 8-9-10 : Makanda by the Sea
On day 10, we return our rental car, get picked up for a calypso cruise for a full day on Manta Ray and when it's over we are transfered back to San Jose where we spend our last night at the Marriott (free with points)
Thanks

In San Jose we really liked the Tin Jo. Lovely atmosphere and, believe it or not, they do many different varieties of Asian/international cuisine really well! You'll find it listed in most travel books.
In Monteverde we had a really nice meal at the homey and intimate restaurante de Lucia. We also liked the more casual Pizzeria de Johnny. Good pizza and salads!

Karola's in Manuel Antonio was very good and romatic. We also liked the restaurants at Si Como No.
At Arenal, definitely try El Novillo - good local food, inexpensive, and accompanied by great views of the volcano (if you are lucky with the weather).

In Monteverde we stayed at the Sapo Dorado and had a wonderful dinner there. Another vote for Johnny's Good atmosphere, casual friendly ,. For lunch Stellas bakery makes fresh sandwiches. Karolas has the best food in Manuel Antonio, in my opinion. Try the macadamia nut pie. We ate there three times in the week we were there.
