We were at this resort in January. It is a beautiful place with a non-swimmable beach, but there are many pools. Food and restaurants were excellent, although service was a bit disorganized. You can walk to the pretty town of San Jose del Cabo which is good since taxis are very expensive. There is really no night life at the hotel.

We went on the sunset whale watch cruise. We didn't see anything other than the tail of one whale, but the sunset was beautiful, drinks and snacks, and good sightseeing from the boat. We arranged it through the hotel. We did see whales from our beach at the Intercontinental.

While in Cabos we were anxious to take a cruise to see the whales, because they calf in the area. We made a mistake taking a sunset cruise..zilch.. We see more whales off the coast of Gloucester or Providence. The secret maybe go on one during the day.. Many of the whales were seen off the beaches of other hotels nearer San Lucas... We were years ago at the Intercontintal before they remodeled (we heard) and the beach may not be great for swimming, but it is for walking and walking along the estuary. You can also walk into the lovely Mexican village of Cabo San Jose..
