Playa del Carmen - Riu Palace or Iberostar Tucan

Hello -

Which one is better - Riu Palace or Iberostar Tucan as far as the following:
Beach
Restaurants/Food
Crowd (we prefer the non-rowdy type crowd)
Kid friendly (we have a toddler who's 2 yrs old)

We are going in February and just can't decide on resorts. Help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Just returned from Iberostar Tucan and loved it--it certainly lived up to its great reputation. Very charming!

Have not been to either, but stayed at at RIU in Jamaica. Did not like it and would not condier staying at another one anywhere. The Iberostars are a better chain all around.
