Try a search for "Moon Palace". You'll get many reports. People either love it or hate it. I was there about 3 years ago. The pool was great, the beach not so great .
I thought the food was very, very bland.
The water in our jacuzzi came out brown.
They also had a sewer problem and there was an area just off the back of the lobby that stunk to high heaven. We had to pinch our noses and run to get past the stench. Hope it's fixed by now though!
We thought the grounds were boring too. Lot's of large grassy areas and few trees.
Also, Moon Palace is isolated. You'll need a car, taxi or shuttle to get anywhere. If you just want a nice pool, you'll love it.
Again, it was 3 years ago that we we're there, so things might have improved. Good luck!

We stayed there last yr. and loved it! I had a bit of a different opinion than the previous person. We thought the food was fabulous. So much to choose from and so many restaurants too! The pools go on forever! The staff was very accomodating, too! Our whirlpool was clean and no brown water. The only down side, if you want to call it that, is the beach had quite a bit of seagrass when we first arrived. After two days of them working non-stop, they cleared all of it away. A bit of seagrass was on the beach, but very little. One employee said sometimes there are storms, which was the case when we first showed up, and this brings a lot of seagrass to shore. But it wasn't dirty, it was just seagrass! It's true the water color right in Cancun or Playa del Carmen is unbelievable. It is sooooo blue that it takes your breath away. You must visit one of the sister resorts of Moon Palace in Cancun just to see the beautiful color of sea. But all in all, we would go back in a heartbeat. It is a 5 star resort by any stretch of the imagination! When we did our research before going last yr., we read many negative reports. But we were so surprised to learn that they were far from the truth. At least for us! We are not fussy people. We appreciated everything about this resort! Go have fun!

my wife (girlfriend at the time) went to Moon Palace a few years ago. We had a great time. I agree with some things BOTH of the last posts said: the food is weak (i'm in the restaurant biz, so i have higher expectations), the rooms were great, the whirlpool tub was very useful, the pool/pool area, and beach were all great, the water was perfect. There is essentially nothing to do--which was exactly what we wanted--the pool bar is nice, and we just CHILLED for 3 days...yes, it is isolated, but in Cancun you WANT to be isolated...

Just got back from the Moon Palace. The worst part is the beach. The water is brackish and full of seaweed and smells funny. When you go in you come out covered in seaweed. Kind of disgusting. The food is ok, nothing gourmet. The pool is great. The rooms are good. The staff is friendly. Stay away from the scam where they try to talk you into joining the "palace family".

Steve do a google search on timeshare scams in Cabo. There is ABC news Tricks of the TRade as well as claims and realities,( You can find this on abcnews.com also just put timeshare in search) as well as USA Today, Latintrade(a piece called Timeshare Hell).

Then go to www.timeshare-guru and open up resales and see what you can buy them for. P.S. note the hyphen. Then go to www.tug2.net scroll down and click on advice. Lots of Advice out there on the net for the consumer.
