DEC.10-17th at the Playa Los Arcos

We are super excited We just booked one week in PV at the Playa Los Arcos.

I absolutely love the small town feel of PV. It feels like a neighborhood and not a city.
I am so excited. I just want to walk all the little cobbled streets of Zona Romantica, walk and sit on Malecon to people watch, Gaze at the river from bridges, savor the flavors of Mexico at various street vendors , shop for some small dishes (plates, bowls) and for some spices to bring back home, I am truly blessed that DH loves all this too.

This time we are going on the Pirate Ship for an evening cruise. We did Rhythm of the Nights last time and absolutely loved it.

We are going on ATV with Unique Tours again.
We will get 4 seater and bring DS and BIL.

I will have fun spending the time reading and planning to my hearts content to pass the time until DEC.

Please write a trip report if you go between now and then so I can live through you in the meanwhile

any tips or suggestions always needed.

What room catagory did you book? When we went we got the superior room. It was tiny. We literally had to squeeze around the corner of the sink to sit down on the toliet. I have pictures if your interested. The picture of the room on their web-site is not an acurate deplication of the room we got. Just a FYI.

Here's our pics: http://community.webshots.com/user/kvrlvn

Hope you have a good trip.

thanks KVR for that info. We booked superior too.
My DH is a big guy and that bathroom sure looks tiny in your pictures.

I am not above bribing hotel workers with cash upon check in. $50 usually gets ya a nice ocean view.

also could anyone tell me what store has the 3 little chihuahua's that wear pink dresses in the zona romantica?
I saw these little cuties and didnt have my camera.

una mas pregunta, por favor....
does anyone know anywhere in PV that have characters where you put your face on the body of a cardboard cutout...
In Amsterdam DH and friend went to Heinekin tour where there was Hansel and Gretel. My husband was Gretel!!
The picture of them has since been blownup and hangs in our living room. Anyways.. DH is looking for a payback !!!
Please advise where we can turn the tables

I've never seen anything like that in Puerto Vallarta (the cut-out heads/photo op deal).

Have a fun trip! Playa Los Arcos is great and you know how I adore that neighborhood. See a sunset, have a margarita for me, please!

If you didn't last trip, go to Andales Bar if you like dancing and 80's music. It's across the street from the Playa Los Arcos, turn right and down about a block. We had the best time there. We didn't care for PV that much, but would return just to go back to Andales. We loved the the "Alice" song.

Glad you enjoyed it so much the first time (just in the last few months, right?) to go again. We are going to Playa del Carmen oceanfront near the town for our 24th anniversary in Nov. and I so looking forward to it, our first time in PDC. I have gotten to where I really need two trips to MX a yr. Three would be better but I need to compromise. I know what you mean about soaking in the area, people watching, and savoring the flavors. I love Mexico.

Not every place suits every person (per KVR's comment). I've been to Vallarta 19 times so far and would go to the airport right now and get on a plane if I could! I stay in the same part of town (called either "southside" or "zona romantica") that jetsetj likes.

That's a true statement. We love the Caribbean side of Mexico better because the beaches have the whiter sand and the water is clear and calm. Better for snorkeling. Also so many things to see and do off property. We're headed back to Playa del Carmen in December. Our 3rd trip to that area and 10th to the Yucatan Peninsula. We love Mexico also. A great, inexpensive getaway.

The jewelry store, Casandra Shaw on Basilio Badillo has chihuahuas who wear jewelry, them maybe?
At Cheeky Monkey on the Malecón there's a Monkey with a cut out for you face.
